Tour a College Town
Enjoy a tour (walking or step-on) of the Indiana University campus, one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country, and a bit of downtown Bloomington as well. Take in the collegiate experience with visits to major museums and attractions located on campus, including the I.M. Pei designed Eskenazi Museum of Art the Lilly Library, and the Mathers Museum of World Cultures. Experience lunch at The Tudor Room inside the Indiana Memorial Union, which was created to help teach university students some of the finer points of dining etiquette. Cheer for the Hoosiers at an exciting seasonal athletic event – there are 24 different sports to choose from! Experience world-class performances from the IU Jacobs School of Music, IU Theatre & Drama, or the IU Auditorium.

Experience cultures from around the world and one that’s distinctly Midwestern as well. Explore works of art from all regions of the globe at the IU Art Museum or learn about one small corner of the world at the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center, which was founded by the Dalai Lama’s brother in the 1970’s. Take in a show at the historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater or the intimate John Waldron Arts Center. Discover a vibrant, artistic downtown as you explore the local art galleries and shops.

What do we make here in Bloomington, (besides college graduates)? Get to know some of fellow tour group members a little better as you attempt one of our local puzzle/escape rooms. Explore some of the natural beauty of southern Indiana with a nature and birding tour at one of the many nature preserves located in Bloomington. Create your own product with a class (and tour) at Soapy Soap, a local Bloomington company. Enjoy lunch or dinner at Upland Brewing Company or the Bloomington Brewing Company for some local craft beer. Taste the other side of B-town with tours and tastings at Butler Winery and Oliver Winery, two of the oldest and largest in the state and part of the new Indiana Uplands American Viticultural Area.

Ever wonder how food and other products get from the farm to your dinner plate? We can show you exactly how it happens here in Bloomington! Enjoy a tour One World’s KitchenShare, a one-of-a-kind coworking space for small culinary businesses, food trucks, and more. Experience the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market where you can interact with farmers from around the region, enjoy live musical performances and some local food vendors as well. A trip to May’s Greenhouse for a tour and interactive workshop will help that green thumb of yours blossom. We can recommend one of several great farm-to-table restaurants for lunch or dinner. Don’t forget to add on a trip to Musgrave Orchard and Cider Mill in the fall to see how they make that amazing first-place apple cider.
